Tara Thompson Photography and Shannon Cain Featured in National Magazine

It seems like every day more people are talking about Shannon Cain: his versatility and range, his command of the stage in live shows, the staying power of his Prime Cut Records album, Like I Never Fell Down, and his eclectic musical and individual style. While all the attention is welcome, Shannon is quick to admit that his success depends on the tireless efforts of committed individuals who lend their time and talents advancing his music. One of the most significant—and highly skilled—of those is Tara Thompson.

A graphic artist, photographer, conservationist, and music fan, Tara resides in Nashville, where her work is featured in notable galleries/businesses and collected by celebrities who are household names. Prime Cut Records enlisted Tara for several photo shoots in preparation for Shannon’s release, Like I Never Fell Down. Thanks to her studious eye and attention to detail, Tara’s images accurately captured the essence of Shannon’s complex musical and personal style, resulting in album art, promotional media, and web accents for the entire project. In fact, Shannon liked her work so well that he commissioned an art piece rendered from one of her photos, which was prominently displayed at the December CD Release Show at the Rutledge in Nashville.

Images Tara captured during that event shared the same quality and insight as her work for the album and quickly found their way to Shannon Cain’s press kit, web site, and social networking sites. When it comes to capturing Shannon’s personality and performances, Tara Thompson always seems to walk away with shots that illuminate the moment and reinforce the Shannon Cain brand.

During the month of August, Porthole, a national travel magazine covering the cruise industry, features George Clooney and includes a photo essay on Nashville, compiled and written by Tara Thompson. A live shot from Shannon’s Rutledge show is among the images selected to reflect Tara’s take on Nashville, and is the image used in the August issue table of contents, as well. Prime Cut Records and Shannon Cain are grateful for the exposure but are most pleased with the fact that Tara’s work shines on the national stage… where it belongs. We hope you’ll take time to look at her work posted in Porthole (available at Barnes & Noble stores, and other fine booksellers).

We also encourage you to view her more extensive collection at TaraThompsonPhotography.com and at galleries in Nashville, New Orleans, and along the Florida coast. Congratulations to Tara and to Shannon, for this national recognition.

Shannon Cain embodies everything that comes to mind when you think of Texas and Texas Music. His music is honest, heartfelt, and passionate. Shannon is able to capture the intensity of a live show, slap it on a plastic disk and not lose an ounce of passion. -- Cara Miller - Radio Free Texas - Beaumont, TX

Shannon Cain is, without doubt, a rising star to be reckoned with. When Shannon climbs on stage, he owns it and he takes no prisoners. Song after song is packed full of energy and emotion and delivered in a way that only he can deliver. From heart wrenching songs like 'Simple Twist of Fate' to hard driving songs like 'Already Gone', Shannon runs the entire gamut. My suggestion: Run--don’t walk--straight to wherever Shannon is performing. You’ll be glad that you did. Your ears will thank you. -- Gary Hays - Hays Entertainment - Nashville, TN

He could be country music's next big thing.... His impressive voice and foot-tapping rhythms proved to be a huge hit during a recent visit to the Tampa Bay area, winning Shannon new fans and a great deal of respect amongst many of the Bay area's top folk and country performers. It's clear Shannon is a shooting star and Nubzilla's Café is thrilled to be one of his stops on his way to the top. -- Nubzilla's Cafe
